Third-Graders Get Lessons in Architecture, the Environment, Math and Teamwork

March 8, 2010 – South Bound Brook, NJ – From their vantage point across the street, the students of the Robert Morris School in South Bound Brook had been keenly watching the construction progress at Riverbrook Walk, PRC Homes’ new condominium community. Their fascination with the emerging condo buildings finally peaked, and they asked their teachers to inquire if they could visit the community and learn more about Riverbrook Walk first-hand from the builders. PRC Homes agreed, and on Tuesday, March 1st, two  classes of Robert Morris third-graders were given a hands-on introduction to the building industry.

During their visit to the Riverbrook Walk site, the students were given tours of the buildings under construction to show them how the plumbing, HVAC, electrical and other components work. Many were fascinated to see what exists behind the walls of a new home. PRC staff also explained core architectural principles, and how important mathematics, safety and teamwork are on a construction site. To apply their new knowledge, the students were given rulers and split up into teams; each team was tasked with measuring a room to learn the importance of accuracy in building, and were shown how to make basic calculations like square footage. The children also learned how modern homebuilding has less impact on the environment, and how new homes save energy and money.

It was a unique way for PRC Homes to reach out to South Bound Brook residents who will live, work and go to school near Riverbrook Walk. This affordable new PRC Homes community combines style, location and prices that start in the $170’s. Located just ½-mile from commuter train service into Manhattan, 4 miles from Rutgers University and 5 miles from Bridgewater Mall, these new condos are designed for first-time homebuyers, move-down empty nesters, or anyone who wants easy mortgage payments and easy home maintenance.  In addition to a great starting price, the first five qualified buyers will receive a 3.99% APR 30 year fixed rate mortgage – with no application and no points. For a limited time, all new buyers at Riverbrook Walk will also receive a special appliance package at no charge. This combination of pricing and incentives makes Riverbrook Walk the best overall new home value in the area.

Riverbrook Walk will consist of 1- and 2-bedroom condos in elevator buildings set on lushly landscaped grounds. The community will ultimately include 90 condominium homes in 5 buildings designed in a traditional style but with some modern design innovations and contemporary finishes. Riverbrook Walk will have its own clubhouse that will include a private community fitness center and community rooms.
