What Do Residents at the Madison Crossing Active Adult Community in Old Bridge Love Most About Living There?

It’s So Easy!

Unique Active Adult Community Offers Easy-Living Condos, Townhomes and Villa Homes in an Easy-to-Reach Location

Old Bridge, NJ – March 1st, 2011 –Madison Crossing at Birch Hill, PRC Homes’ village-style community for Active Adults aged 55 and better in Old Bridge, has been a consistently strong seller since its introduction. Pre-retirement and retirement age homebuyers are drawn by Madison Crossing’s varied, village-style architectural mix, which includes condominium flats in elevator buildings with underground parking, garage townhomes with optional elevators, and villa homes that are, essentially, attached single-family homes. Starting prices in the community range from the low $200’s for condos to the low $300’s for villa homes. Sidewalks and streetlamps give the community a hometown feeling, and the 7,500 square foot Clubhouse offers everything from a comprehensive fitness center to tennis, bocce, event rooms and a heated outdoor pool. A pond, surrounded by a fitness trail, attracts deer and other wildlife from the adjoining woods. Madison Crossing at Birch Hill is located on Route 18 in Old Bridge, within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.

While its value and unique architectural mix are often the “first draws” for Madison Crossing buyers, what new residents find most appealing is how living here simply makes life easier. It’s a recurring theme in conversations among neighbors, and between prospective buyers and the many residents who act as informal “ambassadors” for the community. The easy living theme may be singular, but the reasons are many and varied.

For Terry Gaubatz and her husband Edward, the ease of Madison Crossing became clear almost immediately after they moved into their townhome at the end of December. When this winter’s weather really began to pound the Northeast, they suddenly stopped and realized, “No more snow shoveling!” Mrs. Gaubatz said with a laugh in a recent interview. “Everything is so easy now,” she continued, “and it’s not just the outside maintenance. We love the location; it’s near everything. And it takes us less than an hour to get into Manhattan,” Mrs. Gaubatz said, explaining that like so many Madison Crossing residents, she and her husband both still work.

Demetri Calabrese agrees that Madison Crossing’s location makes everyday life easy, but his reasons aren’t so much related to work. Mr. Calabrese and his wife Raysa bought a villa home here in 2009, and while she still works and enjoys easy commutes, he is retired…and very much enjoys all the shopping, dining and daily conveniences that surround Madison Crossing. “It’s so easy to get to stores, restaurants, even professional offices…everything,” Mr. Calabrese said. “All the major highways – the Garden State Parkway, Route 9, Route 18 – they’re all within five or 10 minutes,” he explained. “But, it still has a secluded feel about it,” he added.

Bob and Ruth Davis, who bought their Madison Crossing villa home two years ago, are both retired now, and they love that Madison Crossing makes it easy to meet neighbors and make the most of their free time, especially when it gives them more time to spend with their grandchildren every day. “Talk about easier living,” Mr. Davis recently said. “They take care of everything outside, and they do it very well. We’ve got that great clubhouse, and, you know, the neighbors here are wonderful. When you’re out in the community, you’re always meeting and chatting with people,” he said. “Honestly, we think we made one of the best decisions of our lives buying here.”
